Last year I completed my first novel, Ecotopian World, about a diverse country where all lives and the environment are precious and where Earth Magic has reemerged, blessing the Ecotopians with wonderful and amazing gifts, such as bonding with animals called Leer, transformation, telepathy, and more. Below is an excerpt and a short description of my book.
“Shahala started out her run as usual, sprinting across the meadow, not even noticing as it started to rise gently. The hard-packed earth on the narrow path gave slightly under her powerful stride… Nearing the summit, she raced along the top of a fifty-foot cliff overlooking a small stream gurgling through the green valley below… and leaped off, falling out into the void. Then something miraculous occurred….”
Our beautiful Native American protagonist is hosting a Summer camp for children of all races and creeds, and Darrel, from the Redwood Forest, is her male counterpart. The story begins when children from the United States are invited to Camp Meadowdale, Ecotopia, for the very first time.
Unfortunately, the United States has forgotten its ecological values and has suffered a devastating nuclear spill in one of its largest power plants. This results in an infertility crisis affecting 90% of the population.
The US President plans to break thru the force field to steal Ecotopia’s fertility vaccine but his mission is subverted into an abduction of young teens who are hidden in an underground “Clinic” and forced to donate eggs and sperm to infertile U.S. couples. Shahala plans a daring search and rescue to bring their children safely back to Ecotopia.
She doesn’t realize the full dangers of the rescue and what she might lose, nor is she aware of the materialistic, sultry, and conniving antagonist, her evil cohort, and their mission ... to destroy Ecotopia.
